TEMPORARY DATA ENTRY CLERKS (3)

MAC-CDAC is a research unit under the Kamuzu University of Health Sciences that works with Ministry of health, local and international health agencies to address priority health problems in Malawi and the SADC region through operational and evidence synthesis research, capacity building and training, health care systems strengthening, disease surveillance, and monitoring and impact evaluation in communicable diseases including malaria, HIV, vaccine preventable diseases and Neglected tropical diseases.

 MAC is working with Rice University on a study that aims to examine the RTS,S/AS01 vaccine's socio-economic effects on household well-being and child development outcomes in both the short and long term, and is inviting applications from suitably qualified and enthusiastic individuals to fill the position of Temporary Data Entry Clerk to work on this project.

 Position summary

The Data Entry Clerk will support the research team in ensuring accurate handling, organization, entry, cleaning, and archiving of study data and consent forms in accordance with study procedures and confidentiality requirements.

 Duration of Contract: Three (3) months.

 Reporting Line: The Data Entry Clerk will be reporting to the Data Manager.

 Duties and Responsibilities:

These will include and not limited to assisting with:

  • Retrieve consent forms and corresponding record numbers for each study cluster.
  • Assign a unique identification number to each page of the consent forms to ensure proper tracking and organization.
  • Verify that all consent forms are complete, properly arranged, and securely stapled before data entry.
  • Conduct double data entry of study information into the designated computer database/system to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Support the Study Coordinator and/or Data Manager in identifying and correcting data inconsistencies and cleaning datasets.
  • Re-archive all consent forms and study documents systematically after completion of data entry and verification processes.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of all study documents and participant information at all times.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Study Coordinator or Principal Investigator relevant to the project.

 Educational Requirements, Skills and Competencies:

  • Minimum of Malawi school Certificate of education (MSCE) or equivalent.
  • Diploma or training in computer applications/data management will be an added advantage.
  • Participations in MVIP surveys will be an added advantage.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data entry.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and meet deadlines.

Remuneration will be commensurate with experience and qualifications as applicable in the Kamuzu University of Health Sciences. KUHES is an equal opportunity employer.
